it read like a memoir / history blend and that was nice to read, it was interesting hearing from an upper class POV, her husband grew up working class and it was great to hear his voice in the story too and how they both grew up differently and yet both experienced racism and hardships because of racist attitudes in the UK. Sometimes it was hard to consume audiobook style because of the format of the book in the factual segments and memoir segments, but once I got into the style I just took it one chunk at a time then had a reading break in between.
