Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand

5.0

Three women descend on Nantucket for a summer of healing. Vicki, recently diagnosed with lung cancer, Melanie, who just discovered her husband's infidelity and her own recent pregnancy after years of failed in vitro, and Brenda, Vicki's sister who was recently fired after a sex scandal at her university job. Seeking the healing powers of the sun, sand, and laid back lifestyle, the women struggle in the beginning. When Josh, a Nantucket native, crosses their path, they all realize how integral one another are to their story. Told with Hilderbrand's signature breezy yet complex storytelling, this book was lovely and a great start to the beach read season.
