As the Shadow Rises by Katy Rose Pool

3.0

the decisions half of the people make in this book made me want to bang my head against the wall

while in the first book i enjoyed the characters more, this time it was the plot that kept me going. because when reading a sequel, you're already familiar with the characters so you expect some kind of change and development and i got that only in two povs which coincidentally were the two most important to the plot.

simply because of who jude and anton are, their part of the story is directly dealing with the prophecy and the age of darkness which (besides my obvious liking them as characters) made both povs more interesting to me.

i have... questions about some of the choices the other three protagonists made because to me they lacked ANY kind of logic or sense. it's not that i'm not allowing for them to make mistakes but the decisions they made seem utterly unreasonable to me which was simply annoying

the ending felt... like a mess, honestly. a lot of things were happening and the plot twists piled onto each other, which just made it all seem less thought-through than it actually was.

still, i wanna know what's next, so finishing the series it is
