The beginning and end were super exciting and fast paced.  But the middle was TOUGH. It took me forever to get through because I could only read a chapter until I was too bored to continue. The dialogue was so basic and repetitive that it was painful to read. So much time was spent with characters literally just telling eachother things, rather than ACTUAL world building.  Which, by the way, was hard to follow. I couldn’t even begin to tell you the difference between gods and dieties and second sons and elementals and regular Atlantans. And all of the gods’ (dieties?) names were so similar that I didn’t even attempt to keep it straight.

But the end was exciting, so I’ll probably pick up the next book in the series immediately 🤷🏻‍♀️
