The Twin Knights
by Osamu Tezuka
This may sound wrong as The Twin Knights is a sequel to The Princess Knight however I think reading this directly after is a mistake.
The Princess Knight is just a copy of the predecessor which for me just felt like The Princess Knight (a book I already found too long) had 241 extra pages added onto the end and ultimately made this feel like a drag.
This story doesn’t really attempt to differentiate itself and the skeleton of the story plays it’s really similar. Instead of 2 hearts we have 2 twins, instead of a father we have an evil brother prince, a child is forced to grow up pretending to be 2 genders and so on.
It’s cute but honestly felt rather pointless to me and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was made purely just because the story it follows was so popular.
