If you have seen enough reality TV and read enough online forums but have placed them both a respectful distance from the real world you will enjoy how this book does the same. I wasn't sure I would like this book based on reviews of it. As it turns out this book took a genre (virus apocalypse) and made it interesting again. I didn't really think that was possible. By focusing on a microcosm of the inflicted that started in a manufactured dire circumstance and having them transition to a real dire circumstance it brought a higher level of perspective to a genre we are likely building a callous against. I enjoyed this book so much more thoroughly than I had expected to. I cannot thank the author enough for the perspective shift on this plot line.
