After stumbling across the "Merlin" show on Netflix, I wanted to do more reading about the whole Arthurian era. I knew nothing. The Crystal Cave helped fix that, although I did soon learn that there is no definitive story, so it's all up to the author to interpret as he/she pleases.
I really enjoyed the beginning of the novel, but when it got to the battle talk and strategies and such (which I realize is necessary) I fell off the bandwagon for a bit. Then back to picking up around page 300ish.
Overall, I enjoyed being taken back in time. I think I'll space out reading the other two novels so that I don't get burnt out on them.
