So, this is sort of a masterpiece. Both funny and horribly sad, infuriating and inspiring, James is kind of unlike any book I've ever read. I'm kind of at a loss for how to describe the book - if, like me, you're unsure whether you actually read Huckleberry Finn as a kid or not, don't worry about it as being a prerequisite as I did not re-read it (or read it for the first time, who can say) and I couldn't have enjoyed this more.
