I haven’t read David Sedaris perhaps since reading Calypso a decade ago, so I’m not sure if Holidays on Ice is showing its age or I am. Regardless, I was surprised by my lack of enjoyment of most of the book. I enjoyed the stories from his own life (Santaland Diaries, the French Easter bell) but the essays were vaguely annoying to darkly disturbing. Definitely not the festive, fun read I was looking for.
