Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers
4.0

The third book in Becky Chambers Wayfarers' universe, this novel explores life aboard the Exodan fleet, where Ashby, the Captain from A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet hails from. This book is somewhat different from the prior two Chambers' novels in that the point of view shifts between several characters, and there is no guiding plot or question that drives the narrative. Instead, it is a snapshot of life aboard the fleet for these characters as they struggle with questions both big and small. Think of this book as a month in the life of a few people aboard the Battlestar Galactica fleet without a Cylon threat and you have an idea of what it's like. I enjoyed the novel and recommend it, but found the diffuse vision and multiple points of view less compelling than the previous two books.
