All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

5.0

Beautiful. Deliberate. Poignant. Heartbreaking.

I know this is historical fiction but Doerr had his way of making things feel so realistic. I don't wish to change anything in the book, no matter how much heartbreak they caused me.

In war, no one really ends up winning. We all end up losing. And the saddest part would be losing without knowing or believing in what you are fighting for.

PS. I agree that this book is slow and lengthy but that just shows how much Doerr invested in building the characters. He really took his time, which eventually paid off, as I got attached to almost all of the characters in the narrative, probably except for one. :)
