Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon

My first really great book of the year. I love how Ari's depression is depicted here. I felt very seen with how her depression makes her act around others, what opening up to someone about it feels like and how it affects her relationship with her mother (down to blaming her for not getting help sooner and how she affected your childhood without realizing that she was trying and that she was a whole ass person too).

This is everything I love about romance novels, tbh. Such a gorgeous relationship wrapped in a silly premise that also manages to discuss and reflect on something important.

Also the sex in this is fantastic and so realistic in a way few books get right. goddam
