I understand this was trying to challenge ideas about purity culture but it does so through a lens that fails to understand the impact of Western Christianity on such ideas. It acknowledges the existence of a correlation between the two, but does nothing to critique the misogyny and underlying biases behind purity culture as a result of Christian teachings.
