Mind. Blown.
Okay, this was one of the best Jaime Jo Wright novels I have ever read! There was so much at play here. I definitely noticed her shout-out to one of her earlier novels and I liked that bit of connection.
While reading this story I kept asking myself, who is Rebecca?? The way Ms. Wright layers her story, revealing just a tiny glimpse to create a plot twist, is incredible! And, oh my word, the plot twists in this story! Alfred Hitchcock would be proud. Just when I thought everything was revealed, bam! This was mystery-suspense for the win.
I am choosing not to delve into the characters and story themselves because when it comes to Jaime Jo Wright novels, and especially this one, the less you know going in, the better. I will reassure you that, as always, everything is explained logically (and that is all of the information you are getting from me).
If you are a fan of Alfred Hitchcock classics, Jaime Jo Wright’s other novels, and mystery-suspense stories in general, this may be for you.
