The characters are amazing here. And the city itself, built bit by bit from memory and then rebuilt from hope, ugh. I loved this so much.  Like, the bloodlust and vengeance but also renewal and grudging respect and friendship. It will make you feel so many feels!  It's weird and beautiful and very very re-readable.  Highly recommend!
