The Penguin Lessons by Tom Michell

5.0

It's only February and I know this is one of my favorite books of the year. One of my favorite books ever more likely! It's delightful and charming, but is more serious towards the end as the author comments on the environment and our impact on it. I fell in love with Juan Salvado and the relationship with the author as well as everyone they encountered. The story is lovely. The writing is also terrific. Recently I've read a few books where the writing ranged from clunky to downright awful leaving me to wonder where the editor was. It was refreshing to read good writing.
