The Last Phone Booth In Manhattan by Beth Merlin, Danielle Modafferi

1.0

this was not a romance like the synopsis leads one to believe. it felt more like an adult “coming of age” where the FMC is figuring herself and her life out. which is def the right story for some people, but tbh I was just bored. there’s a romantic storyline but no romantic HEA. that whole storyline felt shallow to me anyway. everything felt unrealistic. not just the magic phone booth, but the relationships between the characters and how the conflicts came and went. i’ll give it that the broadway show paralleling the Christmas Carol life plot was cute but allllllll the broadway references felt over the top. I wish I hadn’t spent my time on this one
