As the last child in a royal family, Marra lives a quiet life at the convent. When she discovers that her sister is being abused by the prince she was married off to, Marra does what any sister would do: sets out to kill him. Since he is a prince, she will need plenty of help and so she sets out.
From the very first line of this book, I was hooked. The vibes are very difficult to explain, because this book manages to balance cozy, funny, spooky, creepy, and real. Every single character was lovable and relatable in their own way, and the plot twisted and turned in ways I would have never expected. This little found family road trip has absolutely stolen my heart. OMG and did I mention the FMC is 30?
One thing about this book that won't appeal to everyone is that it starts and ends abruptly. It starts off in the middle of the plot then fills you in, and it ends with as many questions as it begins with. The main conflict is resolved well in my opinion, but a lot of answers are not given.
This book would be lovely for fans of fairy tales, strong fmcs, quests, underdogs, misfits, and dogs. Especially dogs.
