taetris 's review for:
Through a Glass, Darkly
by Donna Leon
Commissario Brunetti is a seemingly a policeman with too much time on his hands. He wanders around Venice investigating a non-issue until - for the sake of the mystery novel - an issue turns up.
The pacing is slow, the plot is strange and vague, and the book really had the feel of a sequel.
However, the descriptions of Venice, the dialogue and other details were enjoyable.
