One Door Away from Heaven by Dean Koontz

3.0

Can’t go wrong with a good alien tale! Positives include a charming dog character, some pretty endearing characters in the book as whole (some that stay with us to the end; others visited for fleeting moments in diners and such) and some extremely dislikeable characters too, for good reason.

However, I felt the ending was lacklustre and didn’t really match the atmosphere of the rest of the book. I also thought the separately told perspectives took a little too long to become intertwined, leaving me impatient for some resolutions and feeling like the first half of the book could have been cleaved in length. All the same, thoroughly enjoyed!
