Crypt: Life, Death and Disease in the Middle Ages and Beyond
by Alice Roberts
informative
inspiring
medium-paced
Not quite what I was expecting, but still an enjoyable and informative read. The book is a collection of essays really, based on a series of archaeological finds and the science behind how the bones are analysed to tell more of the story of the person. It blends archaeology, osteopathology and genetics.
In parts there are quite detailed biological explanations, I sort of followed these I think.
