Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

5.0

WOAH GUYS THIS BOOK!! The most frustrating yet amazing read ever. It’s a thought-provoking journey that delves deep into the complex relationship between authors and their readers. Offering such a unique insight into how bad reviews and negative comments can profoundly affect an author’s life.
We’re forced to actually think about the consequences of hate and ignorance.

Even though I felt June deserved the level of hatred directed at her, the story really makes us to think what constitutes as an appropriate response to offensive behavior. Was she really just an awful person or just ignorant?

'Yellowface' amazingly provokes the notion of the boundaries of punishment and redemption; what constitutes as appropriate what doesn’t . This is such an incredible and memorable read that will linger in your mind long after you’ve turned the last page, easily a solid five-star rating as it challenges, frustrates, and captivates readers.
