The Other Mrs.
by Mary Kubica
Sadie and Will inherit an old house. The house is on an island that’s only accessible by ferry. They’re looking forward to this fresh start, which they really need. Sadie, Will, and their two boys move into the house. Along with the house comes a girl. They are now the guardians of a girl named Imogene, who is spooky goth creepy girl.
Sadie has multiple personalities. She doesn’t know it, but her husband, Will, does. He uses that to have one of her personalities, Camille, to kill Morgan, the woman across the street, who happens to be the sister of Will’s first fiancé who died in a car accident, but not really because Will actually killed her. Morgan knew Will was guilty, so he had to shut her up. He’d also had Camille kill a woman who was accusing him of sexual harassment years ago. In the end, Will figures out that Sadie is putting all the pieces together and tries to kill her, but poor Imogen saves Sadie. They let everyone think Will killed Morgan.
This was a creepy book. Lots of twists that make it a fun read. I had to skim the sections written by Sadie’s 6 year old personality, Mouse, because they were upsetting.
