If you're looking for some gun-toting alien invasion action, this might be for you. The story isn't complex or deep, but it doesn't need to be. For the most part I had a good time. My biggest criticism is the overused and not always funny humor. At some points a joke or two was shoehorned into a scene that absolutely did not need it. At others the banter went on so long it actually tanked the pacing of the story.
So, go into this with the expectation of reading a story about some dudes and a lady shooting guns and using nicknames, aliens and a little military propaganda.
But really it's a totally fine read as long as you're willing to enjoy it for what it is.
