The perspective switches between the grandmother, the mother, and the daughter. When following the grandmother's perspective, the text is written in an accent, making it difficult to follow.
I wasn't a fan of the book, I didn't connect with the characters until 2/3 into the book. Even when following their perspective the characters felt 1-dimensional.
