I completely agree with The Economist when they rated this of one of the top 10 non-fiction books of 2014. Fantastic telling of how all life on earth is connected and creating one gap leads to devastation across all of the planet's biodiversity. This, of course, includes human involvement which is what is paramount to The Sixth Extinction. What I enjoyed the most is how approachable the information in the book is to those of us who do not have scientific background. Each chapter focuses on a different part of the planet and its specific climate / perils and therefore, reads like its own story. If you can, pair this with the new PBS series "Earth: The New Wild" and you'll have the perfect visual to this great book.

Enjoy - and be inspired to do your part to save the planet!
