This was a truly weird book. I understand why people don’t like it. It just completely worked for me. Everything about it just… yeah. The simplistic, fragmented writing style. The unreliable narrator. The hazy, pseudo-gothic tone. The exploration of grief. So weird. Absolutely unlikeable. My first 5/5 fiction read of 2025.
