Unravel the Dusk by Elizabeth Lim

2.0

Before I read Unravel the desk I was excited but also a little anxious of it being potentially trash. Spin the Dawn wasn't perfect but I enjoyed reading it. And after reading it and sitting on Unravel the Dusk for a while I can safely say I don't hate this book, I felt more strongly about this book before I read it. Other than one part towards the end that made me tear up a little, I overall felt meh about this book. Some of the Charm the first had isnt present which might have come from the fact that there was less banter and that it had a more heavy and dark tone.

Unravel the Dusk focus was on Maia's journey. While not a bad concept it wasn't fun to read. I can also appreciate the fact they tried to do more with their supporting characters though it fell flat. Like another review mentioned I think I would have liked seeing her rely on others instead of trying to fight the demon on her own. When your struggling you should reach out to others who love and support you. I think that it would have been a good message.
