This is the first book ive read in like a month and a half because of a stupid self-paced math placement course I had to take over the summer. And you know what, Im glad it was this book. Lots of confusing vocabulary and intellectual speech went over my head but it was a nice chill experience.
4.5/5 Stars.
This was actually a pretty funny read. I don't really care that this was inspired by Harry Potter fanfic (or was fanfic?) but from what I know about Harry Potter I do think the author really struck the type of characters she was trying to emulate from that. Clear vision for what she wanted from these characters and their dynamics (in regards to the two leads, have no clue about literally anyone else) and went about it in a very befitting way.
This was like, 90% vibes with an undertone of plot, but the overarching plot WAS there, at least for the 2nd half of the book. I really don't have any complaints besides that sometimes the writing was trying a bit too hard to be funny with the freedom of being an adult and not YA book. And that's okay that's okay. I appreciate that the book committed to having the two main characters genuinely dislike each other for nearly the entirety of the story. Wasn't expecting that. Good on the author.
