Fracture
by Megan Miranda
I felt torn about how to rate this book. Unlike everyone else giving it 5 stars, I wavered between 3 and 4. I thought the quality of the story and the writing was just 3 stars but the relationship between Decker and Delaney was so well thought out that it deserved a 4…
Was it an awesome book? Of course. I think if I hadn’t read Rachel Vincent’s My Soul To Take I could have easily given it 5 stars. Too bad Megan Miranda didn’t get this out a couple years earlier. It just didn’t seem original. The”pull of death” was too much like the banshee screaming Kaylee did. I kept thinking, “huh, this seems familiar.”
Decker and Delaney’s complicated relationship was so awesome though. There are so many books where the love interest is set in stone and we all know from page one what is going to happen with them. That is not the case in this book. You really don’t know what’s up until the very end. (I’m not going to tell you so you’ll just have to read it.) This was so refreshing!
In the end: It really was a good book. I just wish it was more original.
