There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension by Hanif Abdurraqib

emotional funny hopeful reflective medium-paced

4.5

This was such a beautiful book. As someone who is from Columbus and still lives here, even if my experiences are different than Abdurraqib’s, I loved the descriptions of the city and I felt like I learned so much. I also am not really a sports person, but I was moments away from tearing up about LeBron James multiple times. Ohio against the world, baby. I can’t state enough how beautiful the writing was in this, and I’m honored to have this be the only non-fiction book I’ve read in like two years. Loved the formatting as well!
