This addition to The Hunger Games universe was an intense and amazing insight into the power of propaganda and how it is used to the point of realizing the reader has even fallen for it if they're a fan of the rest of the series. This book changes the way I understand the entire series and makes me want to reread the original trilogy with this new context.
From the beginning- I didn't realize how powerful this book would be as we think we know the basics of how Haymitch's games went down, however it makes the most sense that rebellion had been brewing for years by Katniss' games. Now after reading it- of course other tributes did rebellious acts but the capital carefully covered them up. I really enjoyed having the background knowledge and development of various characters seen in the original trilogy-especially Effie and Betee.
I am also traumatized by this one feeling even more graphic than the previous books.

Graphic: Body horror, Child death
Moderate: Child death, Death, Gore, Torture, Violence, Vomit, Grief, Medical trauma, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury
Minor: Animal death, Blood, Alcohol, Injury/Injury detail
I assume if you're reading this your familiar with the series but this one is more graphic than the rest.
