prachimohile 's review for:
A Lesson in Vengeance
by Victoria Lee
*some spoilers*
This books took turns I did not expect it to take. From the very beginning we are thrust into a world created by a narrator who does not seem reliable. And we are left wondering what is going on the whole time. And it’s not until the very end when we are given a release but nothing prepares you for the kind of release and also the unease that the book leaves in you.
I have read all of Victoria’s books and this one was very different. From the beginning I knew not to trust Felicity but at the same time I was drawn to how she looked at the world. And then comes Ellis a whirlwind of a person who Felicity then is swept away by to the point where sometimes Felicity infuriated me when she went along with with Ellis wanted her to do. But it is not until the reveal when I realized and understood Felicity and that we the audience were only seeing the side of her she wanted us to see until the very end.
Masterful and keeps you on your toes!
