Napoleon: A Life by Andrew Roberts

5.0

Extremely well researched, occasionally to the point of absurdity. Napoleon’s life could be written as a work of fiction, and it would seem unbelievable. The rapidity and magnitude of what he accomplished is astounding.

However, I think at the end of the story I’m simply left with a feeling of sadness. For Napoleon, for the millions of lives impacted by his wars, and for what could’ve been, if he had been as good at making friends, as he was at conquering foes.
