A valuable but painful book giving an unforgettably vivid picture of one woman's experience with multiple personality disorder, now called dissociative identity disorder. This book (as the title hints) does a better and more chilling job of conveying the suffering involved, and the courage needed to confront the problem in treatment. As a therapist, I benefited from reading this because it helped me gain a better understanding and more empathy for some of my clients than the dry language in more clinical books could do.
