This series gets more and more complex and emotional as it progresses, and it's delicious to read. Violet and Xaden continue to try and find a way to defeat the Venin without loosing all those that they hold dear.
Andarna appears to be a seventh breed of dragon that may or may not exist, so they spend a good portion of the book trying to find them in order for them to help restore the wards.
Venin continue to attack with increasing strength and frequency. Many civilians are lost to the Venin. Xaden's "problem" continues to grow worse, and he pulls away from Violet thinking that is what is best for her.
By the end of this book, I have many more questions that I started with, and only a few answers to questions I had going into this book. However, I'm on this train for the long haul and can't wait for the next book in the series.

πEnemies-to-lovers
