This novella is really short but not much happens —as this is just a lighthearted prequel where Pippa and her friends host a murder mystery party— so the pace felt incredibly slow

It was a bit of a slog for such a short book and as my investment in the characters in this series is pretty low  having them use pretend names and play other characters got a bit confusing for me😅

I also feel that this novella made Pippa feel pretty shallow. It is revealed that
the reason she chose to do her capstone project on the Andie bell case wasn’t even really because she had this feeling that Sal was innocent all along, but rather she felt the case was too easily closed and pushed aside so there MUST have been a bigger conspiracy. And she felt this way all because she thought she was more correct in her answer to the murder mystery game than the writers.
