False Witness by Karin Slaughter

5.0

4.5 stars. Audiobook. The narration was excellent. This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last. I enjoyed her well written characters, and twisted plot. It deals with several subjects I normally avoid, sexual abuse, child abuse, and rape. These were not romanized or excused in this book, they were the pint where everything started and explained the why's and made it necessary. I found myself desperate for a resolution along with the characters. Edge of my seat pulling my hair out desperation !
Two sisters abused by their mother, and then a man. Horrific and sad, get your tissue box out. These two only had each other, each felt they failed, each blamed themselves. They grew up, went separate ways living a semi life. One looks like she climbed out of the afterlife muck, one looks to be at the bottom. They didn't have to face their demon directly till the demons returned and everything resurfaced. Oh it gets bad, then worse, then unbearably bad. get more tissues ! Time to face the demons.
I loved these girls. The author rocked out some strong characters. I'll never forget Buddy. I'll forever cringe at the usage of "Baby Doll" my stomach is churning right now. I look forward to reading more of her work
