Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about this piece of history that is not as well known. I liked the multiple points of view, especially Alfred. Although I hated him as a character, I feel that there are not many narrators I have read in YA who seem to be sociopaths. He clearly has some mental issues which definitely contribute to his allegiance but I thought it was an interesting perspective. I'm not sure I would put this in my 6th grade classroom as it mentions some raping and pillaging of areas. I'm not opposed to them reading it, but would rather a parent approve it and pick it out from the library or bookstore.
