Judgment Road by Christine Feehan

4.0

"Judgment Road" is a spinoff of Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters/Sea Haven series, involving the motorcycle club introduced in the last Sea Haven series book. If you're a reader familiar with any of Feehan's work, you'll know what you're getting into here. If this is your first, there are a few things you should know:

-While it's not absolutely necessary to read the previous series to read this one, it certainly helps to lay the groundwork.
-Feehan pretty much only writes Alpha heroes
-There is a lot of possibly triggering content that's mentioned or alluded to in her stories
-If you're looking for healthy relationships, that's not really what you're getting with her books
-That being said, Feehan is excellent for an engaging read

"Judgment Road" does not stray far from Feehan's typical formula, but it's an enjoyable read. It certainly feels fresher than the Sea Haven series, and it introduces an interesting array of characters. The love story is serviceable, and it has a few really great moments of angst that don't feel contrived for angst's sake. The story is compelling and emotional, and for longtime readers, you see a few familiar faces!

Overall, it's a great start to a new series, and I'll be looking out for the next one!
