Patch Up
by Stephanie Witter
Wow... I'm so glad I got a chance to read this amazing book, but I wold like to firstly thank the author for offering me her book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was beautifully written.
Stephanie Witter sure as hell did not disappoint. As a reader I felt really connected to the characters and felt like I was going through everything they were. Ms. Witter knows how to suck the reader in and continue holding their attention even long after the book has ended.
I liked all the characters in the book.
Skye - my fave name btw - I liked her character. A few times I rolled my eyes and sighed in annoyance at her small unnecessary reactions but she was a cool character. She was nicely written and fit into the story.
Naturally I'm gonnalike love Duke and his angsty, broken self. *le sigh* Perfect much. I didn't like that small fact that he smoked but his hotness did distract me from that little habit. :)Chapter Seventeen - I was so not prepared for a mini swoonfest when he was demanding to see his "girlfriend". Too sweet...
Skye's parents were great to read, especially when the mum was drooling over Duke and the dad's behaviour the first time he met Duke in the dorm. Had its LOL moments.
Kate was the usual bubbly "BFF" you usually find in books. She was a great addition to the story because the author did use her and she wasn't just a background character in the book just to be there for the sake of it. Can't wait for her and Derek's story.
Now because I am a twisted person and my family members swore that they never dropped me on my head when I was a baby... I'll have to say that I did enjoy reading the parts with Sean, more than a normal person should. XD I looked forward to it in the book in fact.
Sean was a nicely written character, not because he was abusive, and not saying that I support abusive relationships, but because I found his character really believable in the way that Ms. Witter wrote him and as a reader was highly engaged with the story. I also liked finding out his family background - like Kate's too.
This book definitely had a very clear and understandable plot with amazingly written characters that stand out and are definitely rememberable. I would recommend those who enjoyed Easy by Tammara Webber and anyone else who loves the New Adult genre to pick this up and spread the word. It's worth reading and telling your friends about.
Happy reading! :D
