Review: Klara and the Sun (🇬🇧 below) 

Inhalt: Das Buch spielt in einer Zeit, in der Künstliche Intelligenzen ausgereift und allgegenwärtig sind. Klara ist eine solche KI, ein Artificial friend. Sie ist dafür gemacht einem jungen Menschen eine Freundin zu sein. Die Geschichte ist aus Klaras Sicht geschrieben und sie ist eine ganz außergewöhnliche Beobachterin. Sie erzählt, wie sie in einem Geschäft auf den passenden Menschen wartet, ihn findet und begleitet. Klara lernt was es bedeutet, Mensch zu sein, ein Herz zu haben und Hoffnung zu teilen. 

Kazuo Ishiguro ist ein britischer Autor, der bereits mit dem Nobelpreis für Literatur ausgezeichnet wurde. Dies war mein erstes Buch von ihm. Für mich ist es eine Dystopie mit Hoffnung. Mehr möchte ich gar nicht verraten, ich fand es jedenfalls gut nicht allzu viel zu wissen und mir manche Dinge selbst zu erschließen. 
Das Buch wird mich gedanklich noch eine Weile begleiten, da bin ich mir sicher. So richtig aus den Socken gehauen hat es mich (noch) nicht - manchmal passiert mir das aber auch erst im Rückblick.

🇬🇧 Synopsis: This is the story of Klara, an artificial friend. It takes place in a time where artificial intelligence has quite matured and is represented everywhere. Klara is a quite exceptional narrator and a very attentive observer. She tells how she waits in a store for the right person, how she finds and accompanies her. She learns what it means to be human, to have a heart and to spread hope. As a reader you get a glimpse of what technical inventions can lead to. 

Kazuo Ishiguro is a British author who has won the Nobel Prize in literature. It was my first book by him. For me, it is a dystopia with hope. I don't want to tell you much more, since I enjoyed puzzling the pieces together myself so much. 

I'll have Klaras story on my mind for quite a while, I'm sure of that. I'm not entirely blown away (just yet). For met that sometimes happens in retrospect.
