The One That Got Away with Murder by Trish Lundy

4.0

I didn’t really have any expectations going into this book and was pleasantly surprised! It is a YA thriller/mystery book where main character Lauren is the new girl at school, escaping a mysterious past the summer before her senior year. After arrivng in her new town, she starts hooking up with Robbie Crestmont, who’s family is very well known around because of their wealth. But Robbie and his younger brother Trevor are well known for other reasons as well, because both of their previous girlfriends died mysteriously, one from drowning and one from an overdose. So Lauren is warned by her soccer team right away to not get involved with the Crestmonts, but she isn’t so sure that all of the rumors are true.

I was honestly really surprised by the different twists and turns throughout this book. It reminded me a lot of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, which I really enjoyed. One of my favorite things about thrillers & mystery books is when you keep going back and forth on who you think is the villain and not knowing who you can trust, and this book had plenty of that!
