War Hour
by Lauren Loscig
{Stepping toward me, face inches from mine, Lord Drytas snarls, “They all kneel. Eventually.”
Spatting at the floor near his feet, I grin crookedly as he looks at me in disgust. “Willingly?”}
I absolutely adored this book.
There isn’t enough I can say about this that can translate how much love I hold for this piece of literature so I advise anyone who is even remotely interested or intrigued by what they are seeing to go read it.
It’s everything I can ask for and more.
The pace of the story is so incredible, not too slow, not too fast, but just right. It kept me hooked as I did not skip a single page but I still understood all that was going on without feeling like anything was rushed or left unclear.
The main character is honestly so likable, I loved her and she did not annoy or bother me at all at any point during the book (which many main characters tend to do). She’s so relatable and easy to understand which further made this read lovable.
All of the characters were consisted throughout the story, and their actions were in tune with who they were and I absolutely loved that! Not to mention how well they were fleshed out and brought to life, it made losing myself in the story so much easier.
The writing in of itself is so beautiful. I love expressive descriptions that don’t take up too much of the book and this delivered!! It was such an enjoyable read with the perfect amount of action and description.
And the story.
I can’t shut up about the concept and how well it was executed, and the perfect balance between romance and fantasy/other aspects of the story?? Phenomenal.
I had to physically tear myself away from this book so I can enjoy it for longer, that’s how good it was.
This is honestly a masterpiece, I highly encourage you to read it!!
