Ava and Eli’s story was one of pain, mental healthy and brute force. I can appreciate the author in filling out the series, but she missed the mark with Eli’s character some. He came off as 100% cold and showed no growth or ability to love by the end. Eli only showed he wanted to own Ava and fix her, more than tapping into his ‘feeling’ of unfeeling side. Ava was overly dramatic at times which some can argue was the whole point, and her mental health struggles were well detailed and a breath of fresh air. I prefer all the other books in this series, but appreciate the time taken to highlight mental health.
Graphic: Mental illness, Panic attacks/disorders, Suicide, Violence, Suicide attempt, Schizophrenia/Psychosis
Moderate: Addiction, Alcoholism, Blood
Minor: Confinement, Death, Sexual assault, Car accident
