I listened to this book with Libby through my library.

Brief Summary: Mara and her family have returned to the Blackfeet reservation, but she is having some issues making friends. However, she starts to have hope when she is invited to participate in the Blackfeet Giveaway. Things take a turn when a girl performing in the Giveaway turns up murdered and Mara and her new friends are the primary suspects. As Mara and her new friends begin their investigation everyone becomes a suspect and the danger only increases.

Thoughts: This is one of my top books of the year and I am so glad that the @fromthemixedupdesk included it on her Indigenous Reads bingo.

Cobell's writing was fantastic. How Cobell was able to interweave so many storylines along with a murder mystery in such a rich and colourful way is such great writing. Even when I felt I thought I knew what was going to happen Cobell was able to continue to through curve balls that kept me on edge.  I was fully engrossed in the story and was on the edge of my seat trying to solve the mystery interwoven throughout.

All of the characters were so dynamic. I loved the relationships between everyone that was highlighted throughout the book. They were not only complicated and dealt with incredibly heavy things throughout the books they all still felt like teenagers.

Highly recommend.
