Fatal Witness by Robert Bryndza
5.0
It has been 1,546 days today since the last book in the Erika Foster series was released. 1,546 long days….So to say I was beyond excited when I heard that a new instalment was coming, was a massive understatement!! This is evidenced by the fact that when I was out for dinner and saw the email drop that I had been given an advance copy of Fatal Witness to review, I was left with no choice but to make my goodbyes and beat a hasty exit home to start reading it!
So with a mug of hot chocolate and all comfy in my pyjamas, I settled in for what I hoped was going to be a thrilling ride. I definitely got that and so much more! I won’t lie though, I was worried that after 4 years I may have lost some of the connection with Erika, but I had nothing to fear. It was like no time had past. Bryndza brings Erika’s world back to life seamlessly and the magic is still there.
Erika Foster is well and truly back with this case, which has been well plotted and executed. Bryndza always does a great job of pulling the reader into the world he creates and makes you feel part of the story. The pace is fast, with plenty of tension and suspense that bubbles away in the background before reaching boiling point. I really wanted to savour it and take my time, but this was never going to happen when each chapter left me wanting more!
So I think you get the idea that I loved this book and it was definitely worth the 1,546 day wait! In saying that though, I have everything crossed that the next instalment will be along much quicker than that.
