PHEW, this was good! The language was beautiful, the characters were well-developed and I feel like I know them. I usually don't love the perspective-jumping in books, but Emezi did it marvelously in this book and it really strengthened the story-telling about Vivek's life. Speaking of which, I would probably give this book five stars for Vivek alone. What a gem! I wouldn't read this if you're not looking to get emotional and/or emotionally invested, but it's a fabulous read that you may at least want to save for later!
