Dragon Marked by Jaymin Eve

2.0

Big, fat, disappointing DNF at 53% (the trudge began at 25%ish)

Here's the thing -- everything was too distant, I felt detached from the characters who were supposedly inseparably close and I found it boring! Reverse-harems like these can't really be classified as reverse harems because they're favourited (in this case, Braxton) and end in a singular couple, which I found it hard to believe in. I personally felt there wasn't nearly enough romantic action, the guys in the quad strangely distant -- there wasn't enough relationship building. I didn't connect and feel that they really would die for each other...

Disappointing really, given the shining reviews.

I'd say the ratio of romance to mystery/urban fantasy/adventure would be about 30% to 70%.
