This book…

I’ll start by saying that there were a lot of good ideas and some cool moments in this book. It had a lot of potential. However, it got bogged down by slow pacing and too many POVs. It took at least a quarter of the book to start getting me interested in two of the three POVs, and then the author added more, which in my opinion only made it drag worse despite the intent to weave everything together. Also, the POVs needed titles with each section. The entire book is in first person, so the author leaves you to piece together who is narrating for a few pages before switching to someone else.

This author definitely has some intriguing ideas, but after not enjoying Uprooted or Spinning Silver, I’m wondering if maybe her style isn’t for me.
